Qualification

Specifically for people with little or no prior plumbing experience, our courses can take you from complete beginner to certified domestic plumber.

It is ideally suited to tradesmen who require the skills and knowledge to gain entry to the industry..

Courses

All our courses follow a vocational syllabus covering topics such as:-

  • Health and Safety. A sound appreciation of health and safety is one of the first topics covered on all of our training programmes. We will explain how it applies to plumbing work and how work should be done safely to minimise any danger of accidents and injuries.
  • Pipe Sizing. To work effectively at piping skills, you will be taught to understand the basic theories of the flow of liquids and gases. You will also be taught pipe sizing for hot and cold water, domestic heating and gas systems.
  • Pipe Installation and Domestic Water Systems. The fundamental skills involved in cutting, bending, joining and installing water piping is key to all our programmes.
  • Sanitary Appliance Installation, Taps, Valves and Leak Repairs. The assembly and installation of appliances such as sinks, washbasins, baths and WCs. This element of the programme includes maintenance of taps and valves and the small matter of how to repair a leak!
  • Domestic Heating. A common task for the plumber is the design and installation of heating systems. We cover all of the activities ranging from heat loss calculations, heating controls, building regulations to the requirements for boiler selection. The location of heating system components and testing the whole system.
  • Showers. Everything you need to know about installing electric and power showers.
  • Bathroom Design. The black art of getting the layout of the bathroom right! We also cover all of the statutory requirements associated with bathroom design.
  • Building Drainage. Whilst you are more likely to be dealing with drain blockages initially, you will also learn about the design, installation and maintenance of drainage systems.
  • Plumbing Skills TrainingBpec Water Regulations. The requirements of the UK Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations, covering standards, compliance certification, backflow and notification requirements.
